What's the difference between VOD(Legacy) and Storage(library) on Storage usage?

On VOD(Legacy), encoded video which is used for actual VOD streaming is stored. And on the storage(library), resource file which is uploaded for adding VOD and recorded live videos are stored.

Example) When uploading MP4 video file(2GB) on "Add VOD", encoded video of 9GB is generated by which VOD streaming has been started. In this case, each storage usage is counted as follow,

  • VOD (Legacy) : 9GB (Encoded video file)**
  • Storage (library) : 2GB (Resource file)

** This VOD (Legacy) usage has been started from 2nd month as same usage is counted as encoding usage on 1st month.

So it's no impact for published VOD streaming even if resource file for that VOD streaming is deleted from library (because encoded video file stored on VOD(Legacy) is used for VOD streaming.)

However, if deletion of resource file is triggered on the way of encoding for VOD streaming, error is displayed and deletion can't be executed successfully until encoding is completed.

Please note that simulive (except playback mode) will be delivered using resource files from the library. Therefore, if a resource file is assigned as simulive file, the above error will occur and it will not be possible to delete it.

If you want to delete that resource video file from the library, you can archive simulive which is assigned for streaming, or reuse that simulive which that file was assigned with another video file and save. Then you can proceed to delete.
